What are the cast of ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’ doing now?

Posted Filed under

After five fantastic seasons, The Sarah Jane Adventures sadly came to a premature end back in 2011.

Although more stories were ready to go, the untimely death of the show’s star Elisabeth Sladen meant that the show was rested in her honour.

As well as featuring a return for the most beloved classic Doctor Who companion, The Sarah Jane Adventures also launched the careers of its core group of young actors.

Here’s a round-up of what the main cast members have been up to since CBBC’s Doctor Who spin-off ended…

Daniel Anthony

Daniel Anthony Casualty

While SJA fans will always see him as loveable jokester – and star of that little intro at the beginning of each episode – Clyde Langer, Daniel Anthony won himself a whole new host of fans from his role in Casualty as student nurse Jamie Collier from 2013 to 2014.

He also featured in a recurring role in sitcom Meet the Adebanjos and returned to CBBC for a talking head part in 12 Again, in which famous guests talk about what their life was like at the age of twelve.

Anjli Mohindra

Anjli Mohindra Cucumber

Since saying goodbye to wannabe journalist Rani Chandra, Anjli Mohindra’s most high-profile roles have been the multi-episode part of Amara Suri in James Nesbitt’s BBC One thriller The Missing and her return to a Russell T Davies show in his latest series Cucumber as another Chandra, this time called Veronica.

She has also made guest spots in Doctors and Casualty as well as appearing in several short films such as The Black Scholes Conspiracy, My Jihad and The Painter and the Thief.

This year she can be seen in rom-com Miss You Already alongside Drew Barrymore and Dominic Cooper.

Thomas Knight

Closets Tommy Knight

Shortly after finishing with Sarah Jane’s child prodigy of a son, Luke, Thomas Knight was lucky enough to land another leading role as Kevin Skelton in BBC One’s school drama Waterloo Road (whose alumni also include current Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman) from 2012 through to the show’s end earlier this year.

He also gave a turn on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief with other Waterloo Road stars. Last year he played Cal in E4’s teen murder mystery series Glue. He can also be seen in new time-travel short Closets.

Since 2014, his professional name is Tommy Lawrence Knight.

Yasmin Paige

Yasmin Paige

Only appearing in the first series of SJA, Yasmin Paige has racked up quite a CV since playing Sarah Jane’s neighbour, Maria Jackson.

As well as appearing in both of Richard ‘Moss from The It Crowd’ Ayoade’s directorial features Submarine and The Double, she has had lead roles in BBC Three’s Pramface and Glue, opposite former co-star Thomas Knight.
