BBC America has released two new preview videos for The X-Files writer Glen Morgan’s upcoming US conspiracy thriller series, Intruders.

Starring John Simm (Doctor Who, Life on Mars), Mira Sorvino (Mimic) and James Frain (The White Queen), Intruders is about about a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others.

Describing the show as “a supernatural thriller”, Simm commented: “It doesn’t treat people like idiots. They have to think about it. You’ve got to go on a little bit of a journey with it and invest some brain cells – which is a good thing!”

Intruders was filmed in Vancouver and is based on Michael Marshall Smith’s novel.

Jack Whelan (John Simm), a former LAPD cop with a troubled and violent history, finds the quiet idyllic life he has crafted with his wife, Amy (Mira Sorvino) shattered when she goes missing. While Jack is consumed with an investigation, which threatens his very core, a sinister agent named Richard Shepherd (James Frain) is embarking on a series of lethal executions. Meanwhile, a distraught little girl named Madison (Millie Brown) runs away from home into a world of danger.
