British singer and songwriter Sam Smith has unveiled a brief preview of the title track for SPECTRE.

The upcoming 24th James Bond adventure arrives in UK cinemas on 26 October and in the US on 6 November.

Co-written with Jimmy Napes, Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ will debut and be available to purchase and stream this Friday.

The track is the first Bond theme song to be recorded by a British male solo artist since Tom Jones sang ‘Thunderball’ in 1965.

Smith commented earlier this month: “This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.”

The official synopsis for SPECTRE reads: “A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”

Alongside returning regulars Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q), Naomie Harris (Miss Moneypenny) and Rory Kinnear (Tanner), the cast includes Monica Belluci, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista and Christoph Waltz, with Sherlock star Andrew Scott.
