15 Days: Channel 5 crime thriller is filming now in Wales

A new crime thriller is filming in Wales, with Channel 5 beginning production on a show named 15  Days. The Welsh government has even chipped in with some co-funding money.

The Knowledge Online, a trusted industry website, reports that 15 Days was commissioned by Channel 5 with co-funding costs spread across ITV  Studios Global Entertainment, the Welsh government and Channel 5 itself.

This series is a remake of 35 Diwrnod, a series in the Welsh language that was made by the public service broadcaster S4C. The remake is being produced by Boom Cymru, who previously worked on the shows Border Lives and Inside My Brain.

Of course, filming in Wales has become increasingly popular in recent years. The Welsh city of Cardiff has been Doctor Who‘s base since the 2005 reboot, and the city is also home to His Dark Materials and A Discovery Of Witches. Recently, the Netflix series Sex Education was shot in Penarth, South Wales.

As for the story, The Knowledge Online offers this short summary of the 15 Days plot: “It begins with a brutal murder and then reverses the narrative to go back over the preceding 15 days.”

Principal photography is underway now on 15 Days, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated as we hear more about the project. There’s no whiff of a release date yet, but it’s still early doors.
