‘Children In Need’ to air ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas special preview

Written by executive producer Steven Moffat, the 60-minute festive special will be set during World War II and sees the Doctor (Matt Smith) “in war-torn England embarking on a magical and mysterious adventure with a young widow and her two children”.

Children In Need‘s live appeal night will air from 7.30pm on Friday 18th November on BBC One, presented by Sir Terry Wogan, Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon.

Other highlights will include appearances from One Direction, JLS, Westlife, Susan Boyle and The Collective (featuring Gary Barlow, Ed Sheeran, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, Ms Dynamite, Tulisa, Wretch 32, Rizzle Kicks, Mz Bratt, Dot Rotten and Labrinth) with 2011’s Children in Need single, Teardrop.

Meanwhile, Sir Alan Sugar will enter the Dragons’ Den in The Dragons’ Apprentice and the cast of EastEnders will perform a tribute to Queen.
