The BBC has revealed the short synopsis for this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, ‘Last Christmas’.
The official synopsis reads: “The Doctor and Clara face their Last Christmas. Trapped on an Arctic base, under attack from terrifying creatures, who are you going to call? Santa Claus!”
Written by showrunner Steven Moffat, ‘Last Christmas’ guest stars Spaced actor Nick Frost as Father Christmas, alongside Misfits actor Nathan McMullen and Michael Troughton, the son of actor Patrick Troughton, who played the Second Doctor.
The BBC’s Director of Television, Danny Cohen, commented today: “This year’s Christmas line-up on BBC Television is one of our best ever. There’s world-class talent, edge of your seat drama, outstanding comedy and fantastic storytelling. Across our channels we will bring families together and provide something for everyone.”
The new season begins filming in January and there have been rumours that Jenna Coleman will not be returning after this year’s Christmas special.
