Eve Myles: ‘Torchwood’ movie would be ‘breathtaking’

Posted Filed under

Myles has played Gwen Cooper in every episode of the Doctor Who spin-off since it began in 2006 and returns to the role next week on BBC One in Torchwood: Miracle Day.

Asked if she’d like to shoot a movie version of the show next, Myles told Den Of Geek: “Absolutely. A Torchwood movie would be incredible. It would be sensational to have a beginning, a middle and an end in ninety minutes. A big walloping Torchwood crunched into ninety minutes would be breathtaking.”

She continued: “…I didn’t know how we’d ever top Children Of Earth, and Russell T Davies comes along with ten scripts that blow my face off… I think Russell is capable of doing anything. I think if we did do a movie, it would be a fantastic give back to the fans, who have followed us from day one.”

Written by creator Russell T Davies, the first episode of the 10-part fourth series – titled ‘The New World’ – airs at 9pm on Thursday 14th July on BBC One.
