Film4 SummerScreen at Somerset House 2012 line-up announced

Presented in Somerset House’s 18th century courtyard on a giant 17 x 8 metre screen with full surround sound, the 12 night programme of classic, cult and contemporary films includes three premieres with two films hot from Cannes Film Festival.

The full line-up is as follows:

19.00 Behind the Screen: The Genius of Hitchcock
Somerset House and the BFI team up to present insights into Britain’s most influential and iconic filmmaker.

21.00 The Birds
The new digital print of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds will be screened for the first time in the UK, introduced by star Tippi Hedren.

Saturday 18 August

19.00 Behind the Screen: A Trip to the Movies
A look at how cinema can go beyond rational thought to create experiences unique to the art form. With Adam Smith, director of Chemical Brothers: Don’t Think.
