Speaking at the SFX Weekender, Tim Haines and Tim Bradley told SFX: “The writer who’s done the first treatment is a writer off Fringe, so we’ll see what he produces. [It’s] Jeff Pinkner, I don’t know how much of a secret that is”.

In addition to Fringe, Pinker has previously written episodes of Alias, Ally McBeal and Lost.

Primeval‘s producers also confirmed: “It’s a producer at Warner Brothers who is behind this. Obviously they’re big fans of sci-fi, they’ve seen Primeval, they like the idea.”

Series 5 of Primeval will begin in May on pay TV channel Watch.
