Gotham: season 4 trailer, Channel Five still hasn’t got a season 3 UK premiere date

Posted Filed under

The fate of Gotham in the UK remains something of a mystery, even as the trailer for the fourth season of the show is unveiled in the US. That’s little solace for those who are watching the programme at UK pace though, as Channel Five still hasn’t screened the third season of the show in Britain.

It’s frustrating, as season three concluded in America on June 25th 2017, and the fourth run of the show is set to kick off at the end of September. In the UK, the last episode to premiere was the season two finale, that Channel Five showed on Monday 13th June 2016. That’s over a year ago, with no sign of a return date.

Channel Five definitely has the rights in the UK to the third season of the show, but the closest its got to news on when we can expect it is a pinned Tweet at the top of its Twitter feed. Said Tweet reads:

It would be fair to say that Channel Five, right now, doesn’t appear to know more.

Surely the fairest thing to do now is return the rights, or find a way to pass them onto a broadcaster with a genuine interest in the show, and an intention to show it? That, or show Gotham on one of Five’s sister channels instead?

As it is, the legal fans in the UK have been significantly shortchanged here. Channel Five: how about a bit of news on this?

Here’s the season four trailer. Fans in the UK who are at Channel Five pace are advised not to watch it, sadly.
