Channel 4 and AMC have announced the re-commission of Humans.

A third season of the sci-fi drama will begin filming this autumn, with key cast returning.

The eight new episodes will again be written by series creators Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley.

Based on the award-winning Swedish drama Real Humans, Humans launched on Channel 4 in June 2015 and a second season aired last year, averaging a consolidated audience of 2.2m and an 8.0% share. Season 2 was also the No. 1 drama on C4 last year for 16-34 year old viewers.
