Simon Crawford Collins, executive producer at Kudos Film and Television, commented: “The heart of the show for the last 10 years has been Harry Pearce and his increasingly thwarted relationship with the wonderful Ruth. In Harry and Ruth, Peter and Nicola have created two of the most subtle and engaging characters in TV drama today and this series will take them both on a very unexpected journey. We hope it will be unmissable television.”
An official synopsis for Series 10, released earlier today, hinted that “a huge secret, hidden deep in [Harry’s] past emerges, threatening to destroy him and those close to him”.
Last month, the show’s lead writers told CultBox that “it’s not the end of the road for [Harry and Ruth] yet, not by a long shot”.
Kudos have also announced four new cast members for Series 10, including Lara Pulver (True Blood, Robin Hood) and Geoffrey Streatfeild (Ashes To Ashes).
