‘Spooks’ writers ‘thrilled and honoured’ by BAFTA nomination

The writers of BBC One’s Spooks are “hugely thrilled” by the spy drama’s Arqiva British Academy Television Awards nomination.

This year’s Drama Series category sees previous winners Spooks and Misfits up against ITV1’s Scott and Bailey and BBC Three’s recenty-axed The Fades.

Sam Vincent, one of the show’s two lead writers, told CultBox today: “We’re hugely thrilled and honoured that Spooks has been nominated in its final year – especially alongside three excellent shows in The Fades, Misfits and Scott & Bailey.”

Hosted by Dara O’Briain, the Awards will take place on Sunday 27th May at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Spooks concluded last October on BBC One with its tenth series.
