Star Wars: Diego Luna says Cassian’s comeback is “a dream come true”

Posted Filed under

Diego Luna is very excited to don his leather jacket once again, as he returns to the Star Wars galaxy to play Cassian Andor in a TV series on the Disney+ streaming service. He’s called it “a dream come true.”

Chatting to Collider, Luna said that he only found out very recently that he would definitely be reprising his Rogue One role on the small screen:

“[I found out] Very recently, that’s why I know very little. Very recently. I’m thrilled, I’m happy; it’s a dream come true to go back to that universe. I grew up watching those films and now I’m sharing that with my kids, so I’m very happy.”

Asked if he could reveal when filming begins, Luna said this:

“That I don’t know. I know as much as you know. That thing they sent to the press? I got that the day before.”

Indeed, the initial announcement of the Cassian Andor series gave us very little information to go on. All we really know is that it’s a “rousing spy thriller [that] will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire”.

We’re assuming that it’s a prequel to Rogue One, and we’re hoping that Alan Tudyk appears as K-2SO to bring some levity to Cassian’s daring missions.

As we hear more, we’ll be sure to let you know.
