The official synopsis for the new series reads: “In the first outing, 40-something working mum Stella fell for younger man Sean (Kenny Doughty), while dealing with the news that teenage daughter Emma (Catrin Stewart) was pregnant. Stella and Sean’s relationship was soon rocked, however, by a blast from the past in the form of first love Rob (Mark Lewis Jones). While eldest son Luke (Craig Gallivan) then dropped the bombshell that he was moving to Canada.

“In the last episode, Stella confided in Emma that she was pregnant but she didn’t know whether Sean or Rob was the father. What will this mean for the clan as a new series begins? With Sean excited at the prospect of becoming a dad and Rob’s new business dealings taking him back to Pontyberry from Canada, it certainly seems like there’s a bumpy road ahead.

“Elsewhere, problems appear to be brewing between the usually adventurous Dai (Owen Teale) and Paula (Elizabeth Berrington) when Dai starts work at Paula’s funeral home and doesn’t quite measure up to her exacting standards. Life isn’t too kind to lollipop man Alan (Steve Speirs) either and he’s devastated to learn his crossing is to be replaced with traffic lights.

“Plus, Karl (Julian Lewis Jones) and Nadine (Karen Paullada) prepare for the opening of their new salon and Aunty Brenda (Di Botcher) arrives in Pontyberry following a house swap with Stella’s parents, who are now living in Tenerife. Olivier Award® nominee Paul Kaye also joins the cast as a relationship counsellor.”
