Steven Moffat clarifies ‘Doctor Who’ film situation

Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has clarified that a movie version of the show “would be made by the BBC team”, contrary to recent reports.

Writing on Twitter this morning, the writer stated: “To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot.”

Following director David Yates’ comments to MTV at the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards earlier this week, Moffat added: “Movie thing: David Yates, great director, was speaking off the cuff, on a red carpet. You’ve seen the rubbish I talk when I’m cornered.”
