Peter Harness has been confirmed as one of the writers for the new series of Doctor Who.

Harness has previously written episodes of BBC One crime dramas Wallander and Case Histories, but is new to Doctor Who.

The Sweden-based writer is also working on BBC One’s upcoming Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell adaptation.

Harness commented on Twitter today that he feels “extremely excited and privileged” to be writing for Doctor Who, adding: “It’s been great fun to write.”
