‘Wolfblood’ writer says Season 4 will ‘expand the scope of the show’

The creator of CBBC’s Wolfblood has revealed that the new season will see the show move into “the big wide world.”

Season 4 began filming in Newcastle/Gateshead in September.

It has been confirmed that several key cast members will not be returning in the new season.

Hinting at what to expect when Wolfblood returns, writer Debbie Moon wrote on her blog: “For the first time, the show will be moving outside Stoneybridge and into the big wide world. Jana, played Leona Vaughan, will now be our main character, and we’ll be following her as she embarks on a new life in the big city, and builds herself a new pack of Wolfbloods and humans…”

She added: “This season gives us a chance to expand the scope of the show, and to explore new locations and new characters that will reveal more about what it really means to be a Wolfblood!”

Moon teased: “I’ve always intended Wolfblood to be about Wolfbloods as a whole, not about one person, one family, or even one village. The scale of the Wolfblood world has been gradually expanding with every season, and this is just one more step along that pathway.”

12 new episodes will air on CBBC in 2016.

Alongside former wild wolfblood Jana (Leona Vaughan) as the show’s new lead, Season 4 will introduce a number of new characters, including corporate boss Imara (Michelle Gayle), her son TJ (Louis Payne), Matei (Jack Brett Anderson), his sister Emilia (Sydney Wade), and martial arts enthusiast Selina (Rukku Nahar).

Wolfblood launched in 2012 and the third season concluded on CBBC last October, with the wolfbloods facing their toughest challenge yet as Kincaid planned to eradicate their species.
