Making a Murderer, Netflix’s runaway true-crime hit, is set to return later this month for a further exploration of Teresa Halbach’s death and the investigation following it – and the streaming service have now gifted us a trailer…
As is Netflix’s wont these days, Making a Murderer‘s second season was a surprise, being announced less than a month before its premiere date. The second season will continue to follow Steven Avery, his co-defendant and nephew Brendon Dassey and their legal teams as they try and get the two men justice. It’ll also introduce Kathleen Zellner, a post-conviction attorney who has corrected more wrongful convictions than any private attorney in America.
Regarding the second season creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos had this to say:
“Steven and Brendan, their families and their legal and investigative teams have once again graciously granted us access, giving us a window into the complex web of American criminal justice. Building on ‘Part 1,’ which documented the experience of the accused, in ‘Part 2,’ we have chronicled the experience of the convicted and imprisoned, two men each serving life sentences for crimes they maintain they did not commit. We are thrilled to be able to share this new phase of the journey with viewers.”
The trailer, as we say, looks a bit like this:
Making a Murderer: Part 2 premieres on Friday 19th October on Netflix worldwide.
