Martin Freeman is back in a TV comedy again

You think Martin Freeman and television comedies, and The Office can’t help but instantly spring to mind. However, for the first time in nearly ten years, he’s now shot a brand-new comedy series pilot, with an eye on a recurring series.

It’s called Breeders, and it’s been backed by the BBC in the UK, and FX in the US. The Thick Of It co-writer Simon Blackwell has penned the pilot, that’s been directed by Ben Palmer, director of The Inbetweeners.

The details of the pilot are under wraps, but it was shot in January, in and around London. There are no plans to broadcast the pilot itself. As per Chortle, Freeman is reported to have helped conceive the show himself.

We suspect we’ll find out later this year if the pilot has proven to be a successful one…
