Debuting last September to mixed reviews, Netflix’s curious collaboration between Ezra Koenig and Jaden Smith, the anime-inspired Neo Yokio is set to return this Christmas…
Boasting an extraordinarily talented cast including, but not limited to, Susan Sarandon, Stephen Fry, Richard Ayoade, Jason Schwartzman, Amandla Stenberg, Kiernan Shipka, Peter Serafinowicz, and Steve Buscemi, Neo Yokio followed a depressed young playboy in a futuristic city who fought demons on the side.
As we say, it wasn’t particularly well-received but the pedigree of talent onboard and Netflix’s hesitancy to cancel series after one run suggested Neo Yokio would return and indeed it is.
Netflix confirmed the series’ return as a Christmas special – though, interestingly, not a full second season – in a tweet interaction with the official Toblerone account:

The Neo Yokio Christmas special, ‘Pink Christmas’ bows on Netflix on Friday 7th December.
We’ll notify you if there’s any word about a second season.
