Sky has annouced that the new season of 24 will air in the UK on Sky1 later this year.
24: Live Another Day begins filming in London next month and sees Kiefer Sutherland return as Jack Bauer after a four year absence for a limited run of twelve episodes.
Sutherland teased: “24 has always had such a global sensibility. But to be able to tell this intense 24-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you’re finished watching an episode, you’ll feel like you’ve been there…on the edge of your seat.”
Other returning cast members include Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe, William Devane as James Heller and Kim Raver as Audrey Raines.
Sarah Wright, Controller, Acquisitions, Sky commented: “We’re thrilled to be bringing 24: Live Another Day to Sky 1 HD. We remain passionate about bringing the best of the US to Sky customers and the return of the iconic 24 is a hugely exciting TV event.”
Adam MacDonald, Director, Sky 1 HD added: “I’m delighted that Jack and the team at 24 are returning exclusively to Sky 1 HD. The scale, ambition and fast-paced energy of the series epitomize everything we look for in a drama for the channel. I can’t wait to bring it back to our customers.”
Season 1 of 24 will be available from Sky’s On Demand service from February, with all eight original seasons available from March.
24: Live Another Day begins in the US with a double-bill on Monday 5 May and will begin on Sky1 in the UK shortly after.
