From executive producer Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Marvel’s first live-action TV series will launch on Channel 4 this autumn, airing shortly after its launch on the ABC network in the US.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows the adventures of the worldwide law enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D.  and sees Clark Gregg (Avengers Assemble) return in his role of Agent Phil Coulson.

Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (The Fades star Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer, Jay Hunt commented: “Like the Super Hero universe from which it has come, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is big, bold and absolutely exhilarating. Featuring the production values you’d expect from Marvel and ABC Studios, this is family entertainment at its most exciting.”
