This Is Us broadcast rights abandoned by Channel 4

There are no plans to pick up season 3…

This Is Us no longer has a UK broadcast home, as Channel 4 has decided not to carry on airing the popular NBC series.

It had seemed for a while that Channel 4 lacked interest in promoting the drama after moving season 2 of This Is Us to More4, and now TVWise has secured exclusive confirmation from a representative at the broadcaster – we won’t see season 3 on any of C4’s stations.

“We are so pleased and very proud to have brought the first two seasons of the critically-acclaimed series This Is Us to a UK audience, but there are currently no plans to air further series,” they explained.

The fourth season of This Is Us got underway in the US in September, and NBC has revealed that it is committed to two more seasons going forward. The tear-jerker was originally created by Dan Fogelman for the 2016 schedule, and follows the lives and families of two parents and their three children in several different time frames. The cast boasts Gilmore Girls and Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore (Tron: Uprising) and Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story) and has earned plenty of awards for its intricate storytelling.

Amazon Prime Video UK is still streaming seasons 1 and 2 of This Is Us, and we presume it will continue to make further episodes available in the future, however, this has not been confirmed by Amazon yet.
