We recently took a tear-filled look at five of the most heart-breaking moments in BBC One’s Merlin and now we’re back to hopefully cheer you up with five of the fantasy drama’s funniest moments…
Ranking second place – in another emotional episode, ‘The Death Song of Uther Pendragon’ – is when Sir Leon finds Merlin and Arthur sneaking around the castle.
Arthur leaves it to Merlin to come up with an excuse for what they’re doing. His excuse: poetry. Leon’s amusement is priceless as is the annoyance on Arthur’s face. After airing, this scene quickly became a fan favourite and we’re pretty sure it’s still up there.
Our Number 1 funniest moment comes again from our funniest episode, ‘Goblin’s Gold.’
If you for some unbeknownst reason don’t remember the scene we’re talking about then do yourself a favour and go and watch this episode again. It is of course the scene in which Goblin Gaius gives Uther a good old smack around the head (quite deserved) but with the great excuse of stimulating circulation in the bald King’s head. Comedy genius at its finest.
We can’t end this article without giving a special shout out to everyone’s favourite knight (arguably), Sir Gwaine. Almost every time he graces a scene, it is guaranteed that your face will be resembling that of the Cheshire cat.
