Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men started in 1988 as a quintet, until Marc Nelson left the group to pursue his solo career. Wanya Morris, Michael McCary, Shawn Stockman and Nathan Morris (no relation to Wanya) stayed together and enjoyed plenty of success until McCary left.

Now a trio, Boyz II Men are still performing their trademark smooth harmonies. Each is also a distinctive lead singer. They rose to stardom quickly due to their polished stage act, synchronised dance routines, and popular hits.

The group has recorded 12 top ten r n’ b singles, and had five Number One hits on the pop charts. Four Grammys are listed among the many awards they have earned in their long and successful career. Boyz II Men are playing three concerts in the UK during December.

Thursday 4 December – O2 Academy Birmingham
Friday 5 December – IndigO in London
Sunday 7 December – Albert Hall in Manchester

Though the group is older, they haven’t lost their fan appeal. There many who will find themselves singing along to nostalgic 90s hits with these guys in town.

Michael Buble

For approximately two weeks in December, Michael Buble will be performing in the UK.

December 2-3 –National Indoor Arean in Birmingham
December 5-6 – Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle Upon Tyne
December 8-9 – First Direct Arena in Leeds
December 11-13 – Odyssey Arena in Belfast
December 15-16 – The O2 Arena in London

The Canadian crooner is a Grammy winner whose style was inspired by greats like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Stevie Wonder and Ella Fitzgerald. Michael Buble has become a household name through his renditions of soul and classic jazz standards.

He launched his career when he became the winner of the British Columbia Youth Talent Search at age 17. Though he was disqualified when Beverly Delich, the organiser, discovered he was younger than the 18-year-old contest requirement.

Buble’s grandfather, Demetrio Santanga, had a huge collection of records that was the foundation of Michael’s passion for soul and jazz music. Santanga encouraged his grandson’s ambition to follow in the footsteps of the artists mentioned here.

Sting

If you’ve ever wanted an insight into the world-renowned musician, composer, author and actor, Sting, then you’ll be able to get it on 23 October.

Inside the Actors Studio is Bravo Media’s award-winning program, hosted by James Lipton, in which he discusses what makes a person tick. Everything from Sting’s time with The Police to his new musical The Last Ship, a Broadway production opening at the Neil Simon Theatre on 26 October.

Lipton says there has never been an episode like this one. Numerous songs are going to be performed. Sting will reveal himself with stories and thoughts never before heard.

The idea for this tour, which features both Sting’s and Neil Simon’s bands, came from their acoustic show, in which they performed versions of Sting’s ‘Fields of Gold’ and Simon’s ‘The Boxer’ together. The concert promises to feature both solo and duet performances.
