The Norse Code — free audio download for the Avengers 60th

Free for one week to celebrate The Avengers at 60 is Big Finish audio adaptation of The Norse Code

As we’ve reported already, the cult British show The Avengers is 60 this very week (see our story on the STUDIOCANAL celebration event here). As we mentioned in that article, The Avengers has been recently revived on audio by Big Finish, who have very kindly given away audios for people every Monday during lockdown (eg the recent Blake’s 7 adventure here). This week the free #lockdownload is the adaption of a comic strip adventure — The Norse Code. Adapted by John Dorney, it stars Julian Wadham  (The Casual Vacancy) and OIivia Poulet (The Thick of It) as Steed and Mrs Emma Peel.

Originally released in April 2016, this adaptation of an original comic strip adventure sees Steed and Mrs Peel on an outlandish mission to uncover a nuclear bomb, but instead discover an overthrow plot by… Vikings?

Steed has the horns of a dilemma, Emma milks her moment. An agent has gone missing whilst holidaying in the Norfolk Broads.

With an American nuclear bomb being stored in the region, Steed and Peel can’t take any risks.

But the last thing they expect to find on their boating trip is a Norse longboat. What are Vikings doing in East Anglia?

It’s all great fun and well worth a listen. Did we mention it was free? Just set up a free account and check Big Finish website’s Weekly Deals page at www.bigfinish.com/collections/v/weekly-deals.
