As Miriam Margolyes is set to be honoured for her performance in the short, here’s what we know about the future of A Friend of Dorothy:

Ahead of her receiving a special honour award at Raindance festival for her performance in the successful short, Margolyes has confirmed that there’s talks to extend the film into a feature length story.

What’s the original A Friend of Dorothy about?

Our leading lady takes on the role of a widow working her way through the many stages of grief. Her quiet, mournful life is tipped out of balance when it collides with a teenager who just so happens to kick their football into her garden. The two develop a precious bond and help one another with the obstacles life has put in their way.

Who was in it?

The film starred Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter), Alistair Nwachukwu (Shadow and Bone), Oscar Lloyd (Hotel Portofino) and Stephen Fry (Blackadder).
