New Zealand crime show A Remarkable Place to Die returns for series 2 later this week

The show returns to UKTV / U app this Thursday, 5 November

What do we know about A Remarkable Place to Die series 2

The show is set in Queenstown, New Zealand and is far grittier than our other New Zealand favourite The Brokenwood Mysteries. If you haven’t seen series 1, it’s available via UKTV and there you get a basic description:

A determined homicide detective must confront the ghosts of her past when she returns to her hometown of Queenstown, New Zealand, to unravel the truth behind the deaths of her father and sister.

Series 1 was grim in places, with some fabulous scenery adding depth to the viewing experience. The show stars Chelsie Preston Crayford as  Detective Anais Mallory, Rebecca Gibney as her mother Veronica Mallory, Matt Whelan as local detective Simon Delaney. As Mallory investigates the death in her family, alongside other cases, she learns her father was no saint. Neither was her sister an angel. Instead,  Mallory unpacks a dark story of drugs and corruption. While some of the ending may be predictable, there’s a good chunk of what else to discover to cover in season 2. Fortunately for fans (we includes ourselves) we get to find out later this week.

Until then, enjoy the trailer!
