From the mind behind The Night Agent, there’s a lot of excitement around American Hostage – here’s everything we know so far:

Announcements are coming out about the upcoming thriller with a sparkling Hollywood cast and a gripping premise. With a couple recently released first look images coming out, we can also put visuals to the story.

What’s American Hostage about?

A cherished local radio reporter in Indianapolis is unexpectedly put at the heart of a hostage situation. The show appears to be running as usual when our reporter receives a call from the hostage-taker themselves. Demanding to be interviewed for the area’s popular news program, our protagonist is entangled in the most important call of his life.

Who’s in it?

The cast for this series boasts a whole host of well-known names. The list includes Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Giovanni Ribisi (Sneaky Pete), Kristoffer Polaha (The Shift),  Mireille Enos (World War Z) and Kat Cunning (Purple Hearts).

 Who’s behind it?

This series shares a creator with The Night Agent as it comes from the mind of Shawn Ryan, working with Eileen Myers (Mad Men).

When’s it out?

The series is set to release this autumn on MGM+.
