Bardem and Hudson to star in rom-com – Hello & Paris

Two well-loved faces are returning to the big screen together in a brand-new project, here’s what we know about it so far:

What’s it about?

Inspired by the like of When Harry Met SallyYou’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, this new project aims to reignite the intimate sweetness many people associate with retro rom-coms. The story takes place in, you guess it, Paris, where a landscape architect and bestselling author have a first meeting filled with friction as their two strong personalities clash. The pair slowly begin to bond over a love of books and recipes from their past lonely, lives and begin to feel their independence challenged. They both have to reckon with the idea that they may not have to choose to continue alone anymore, but can’t shake the feeling that it might not be in their best interest to break out of the routines which have brought them so much success.

The film is loosely based upon Deborah McKinlay’s novel That Part Was True.

Who’s in it?

Kate Hudson (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) are the only names attaches to the project so far, as it’s in the early stages of development and still being shopped around. This leaves room for many more roles to be taken by actors on-par with the prowess of the current cast, including the potential for best friend counterparts to our two romantic leads.

Who’s behind it?

The director attached to the project is Elizabeth Chomko (What They Had) and will be produced by Finola Dwyer (Brooklyn).
