UKTV has announced a Bookish Christmas Special as well as renewal for series 3
Titled Crown of Destiny, the U&Alibi special will be 2×70′.
What do we know about Crown of Destiny, the Bookish Christmas Special
Sadly for fans, the press release is a little light on content. Essentially, we learn:
the appropriately named Gabriel Book (Gatiss) open the doors of Book’s Books on Archangel Lane for a brand-new story, bringing viewers a seasonal mystery packed with festive charm, surprises and a dash of Christmas spirit.
At least the picture (above) confirms the return of Polly Walker as Trottie Book. If you don’t know, it’s post-War London, 1946, and Polly and Gabriel are in s0-called “Lavender Marriage” — we explain the show in more detail in this post.
While details of the Christmas Special are sparse, we also get confirmation the show is renewed for series 3. With production due to start later this year, the show will air in 2027. Until then, you can catch up with series 1 and 2 on Sky, Virgin Media and NOW. We are promised details of storylines and guest cast later this year, presumably as filming commences. As ever, we’ll keep you posted.
