Spend Christmas in Yorkshire with All Creatures Great and Small — trailer now available

Channel 5 has dropped a trailer for the forthcoming All Creatures Great and Small special, and many fans will be looking forward to a Christmas in Yorkshire with the vets. It may be very festive, but is there more?

How does Christmas in Yorkshire look for James Herriot’s vets

It 1945 and the first Christmas since the end of the war. Romance may be very much in the air, as Siegfried (Samuel West) says:

“We spend our lives trying to find our other half.”

Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) answers with:

“What if you spend your whole life looking for something that doesn’t exist, and miss what’s right under your nose?”

If that’s not enough intrigue, rural life continues. It falls on James (Nicholas Ralph) to take on the Darrowby Nativity play after Helen (Rachel Shenton) is struck down with a lurgy. The Radio Times also tells us:

Siegfried is back at Mrs Stokes’s Farm to see Hilda the goat, who’s been up to more mischief, while Mrs Hall is keen to enter the Drovers’ darts competition and scoop the first prize; a fresh turkey, which are in short supply due to the war.

The trailer may be short, but there’s plenty to look forward to, as you can see:

The episode is broadcast on Christmas Eve at 9pm, following a documentary on the show.
