You’ll probably be familiar with Universal Channel as the UK home of How To Get Away With Murder and Sleepy Hollow.
If you’re a fan of these shows – and other hit US dramas on Universal Channel like Rookie Blue, Graceland, Psych, White Collar, Bates Motel and Royal Pains – you’ll already that know they’re all about compelling characters, from Norman Bates to Ichabod Crane.
In their latest promotional campaign, Universal Channel are pointing the camera at the audience instead, however.
The new videos are focusing on “people from around the UK who inspire others through their determination and extraordinary character”. People like 22-year-old political commentator Kenny Imafidon from South East London…
Arrested and sent to prison on joint enterprise at the age of 18 for a murder he did not commit, Kenny continued with his studies, and is the only person to have ever taken A-level exams in Feltham prison.
On leaving prison, Kenny was determined to channel that energy into something positive – to educate young people about existing inequalities and empower them to engage in politics and chase their dreams.
Now a trustee and director of the British Youth Council, representing the views of seven million young people across the council’s networks, Kenny is certainly 100% character.
