The first clip has been released for Russell Howard’s comedy-drama A Gert Lush Christmas.
The one-off special is written by Howard with fellow stand-up Steve Williams (Michael McCintyre’s Comedy Roadshow).
Alongside Russell Howard, A Gert Lush Christmas also stars Neil Morrissey (Men Behaving Badly), Greg Davies (Man Down), Sophie Thompson (EastEnders) and his sister Kerry Howard (Him & Her).

The official synopsis reads: “Christmas ‘tis the season to be jolly’, unless you are Dan Colman (Russell Howard), a regular guy who is about to introduce the woman of his dreams, Lisa (Hannah Britland), to his crazy but loveable west country family. With his fitness-obsessed Dad, party animal Uncle Tony, wonderfully inappropriate brother Jake and lovely but utterly bonkers mum… what could possibly go wrong?”
‘Gert Lush’ apparently Bristolian slang, meaning the highest form of praise a Bristolian can bestow on anything.
A Gert Lush Christmas will air on BBC Two this Christmas.
