Dahmer consolidates the number 1 spot

Dahmer consolidates the #1 spot on the latest Nielsen ratings

Real-life inspired Dahmer consolidates its position at the top of the latest Nielsens on a week with few changes

The Nielsen audience totals (US) for September 26-October 2 are in and our favourite category of Streaming Originals has Dahmer in a strong position at the top of the table. Last week we suggested:

DAHMER will top the table again, […] The Winx Saga and Cobra Kai look to drop, and we’re very keen to see how Andor performs. It will also cover the sixth episode of Rings of Power, in which the action level went up several notches. As ever we’ll keep you posted.

There’s a few things to discuss as we dive into the data.

The Nielsen US audience (Streaming Originals) for September 26-October 2

We add the columns marked ‘*’.

Dahmer consolidates the top spot

It’s an impressive number — 4,370 million minutes, compared to last week’s almost as impressive 3,658. If you compare seven days vs three days audience for launch weekend, perhaps it’s not quite so stellar, but we feel that’s nit-picking. It’s yet to overtake Stranger Things season 4 as most watched in 28-days English TV show world-wide, but we won’t be surprised if it does.

Dragon Watch

Remembering House of the Dragon counts as acquired, not original, it made an audience of 907 million minutes with 7 episodes. This puts it someway behind Rings of Power though it’s still doing a lot better on Rotten Tomatoes audience reviews — 84% at time of writing.

What else happened?

She-Hulk
She-Hulk is back!

Some shuffling of the pack, solid progress for Andor and The Housemaid’s Tale while She-Hulk crept back into the list. Missing altogether is recent release Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 after just one week. This doesn’t bode well for a third season.

What are we expecting next time?

The Netflix numbers suggest a third and final week at the top for Dahmer, a good week for The Empress and a fade for Cobra-Kai. Add in Bake Off, Andor and The Handmaid’s Tale there’s plenty to look our for, including She-Hulk. We’ll be back next time for more unique insight.
