Dawn of the Modern Woman — Lily Collins to play Audrey Hepburn

Lily Collins will play Audrey Hepburn in an adaption of Fifth Avenue, 5 AM: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman

Her Case Study Films is developing alongside Imagine Entertainment and producer Scott LaStaiti. While Collins’ resemblance to Hepburn is undeniable, it’s been enhanced by several fashion choices made on the set of Emily in Paris.

What do we know about Dawn of the Modern Woman

First, there’s no working title we can find, so we shortened the title of the bestselling Sam Wasson novel. While Collins is also working on Emily in Paris season 6, she is also an EP on this project as well as the star. The Deadline report on the announcement covers some of the vast scope of the book (we’ve taken this from the Amazon page):

Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M. by Sam Wasson is the first ever complete account of the making of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. With a cast of characters including Truman Capote, Edith Head, director Blake Edwards, and, of course, Hepburn herself, Wasson immerses us in the America of the late fifties, before Woodstock and birth control, when a not-so-virginal girl by the name of Holly Golightly raised eyebrows across the nation, changing fashion, film, and sex, for good.

Alena Smith (Dickinson) is set to adapt the book. We don’t expect much more in the way of news until much later this year.
