Down Cemetery Road has been renewed at Apple TV — what do we know about season 2

No sooner was the final episode released than Apple TV announced Down Cemetery Road was renewed. There will be a season 2 for Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.

What do we know about Down Cemetery Road season 2 now the show has been renewed

Obviously specifics are scarce at this stage, but we are told:

…reunites Zoë Boehm (Thompson) and Sarah Trafford (Wilson) chasing down another twisted mystery. After a woman falls in front of a train, Zoë is called in to investigate, but this seemingly simple case soon upends her life as she and Sarah find themselves navigating the glamorous but ruthless world of black market antiquities. Matters take a deadly turn when they stumble into the path of a brutal serial killer who will stop at nothing to cover up his crimes.

Those familiar with Mick Herron’s Zoë Bohm novels will spot the second novel (of four), The Last Voice you Hear, in this, but we expect key differences. Most important we suspect will be altering the story so Sarah Trafford has a more substantial role — in the book she appears near the end, something we suspect won’t be the case for this second season.

Will we see this new season in 2026? It depends entirely on when filming can start and when the scripts are (or were) developed. Given the other Herron show Slow Horses appears each autumn, we imagine Apple TV will be keen to place this new Zoë Bohm season to follow the 2026 season of Slow Horses. As we get news we’ll let you know.
