The BBC has released the first promotional image for Atlantis, BBC One’s upcoming Greek myths and legends drama.
Starring Juliet Stevenson (The Hour), Sarah Parish (Cutting It), Jemima Rooper (As If), Robert Emms (War Horse) and Mark Addy (Trollied), Atlantis will air in Merlin‘s Saturday evening slot this autumn.
Executive produced by Merlin‘s Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy, the thirteen-part fantasy series is created and written by Howard Overman (Misfits).
The official synopsis reads: “The city of Atlantis is a mysterious, ancient place; a world of bull leaping, of snake haired goddesses and of palaces so vast it was said they were built by giants. It’s into this strange, compelling realm that the young Jason arrives and an amazing adventure begins, bringing to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends re-imagined for a new generation in an action packed 13-part series.”
