ITV has revealed two new photos of Patricia Hodge in the last ever episode of Downton Abbey.

The period drama concludes with a final feature-length special on Christmas Day later this month.

Patricia Hodge will appear in the episode as Bertie Pelham’s mother. The actress is best known for her role as Penny in BBC One’s sitcom Miranda. (We do rather like the idea that this means Miranda is Bertie Pelham’s sister!)

The episode will also feature the return of Lily James (Cinderella) and Matt Barber (Being Human) as Lady Rose and Atticus Aldridge, alongside Peter Egan (Unforgotten) as Lady Rose’s father, Shrimpie.
