Written by the show’s creator David Renwick, the new 90-minute episode airs at 9pm on Monday 1 April on BBC One.

Guest starring Rik Mayall (Bottom) as DI Gideon Pryke, Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) as Rosalind Tartikoff and Hasina Haque (Casualty) as Fariba Tartikoff, alongside Sarah Alexander (Green Wing), Nigel Planer (The Young Ones), ‘The Clue of the Savant’s Thumb’ will see Creek (Alan Davies) and fellow investigator Joey Ross (Sheridan Smith) drawn into a complex case involving a secret society, seemingly supernatural events at a girls’ boarding school, and the miraculous disappearance of a body in front of three witnesses.
