The BBC has released the first promotional photos of the cast of Last Tango in Halifax ahead of the drama’s upcoming second series.

Starring Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid as love struck septuagenarians Alan and Celia, Series 2 will begin on BBC One in mid-November.

Series 2 picks up from where we left off with Alan regaining consciousness from his heart scare, much to Celia’s relief and delight. Meanwhile, Gillian (Nicola Walker) and Alan’s relationship takes a hit when he finds out she’s slept with John.

The first series was the BBC’s highest rating new mid-week drama of 2012, regularly attracting more than seven million viewers.
