The BBC has released the first promotional photo of Silent Witness newcomer David Caves.

Series 16 will see the arrival of Caves as forensic scientist Jack Hodgson, described as “straight-talking and disarmingly quick-witted”.

Liz Carr will also join the cast as Forensic Lab Scientist Clarissa Mullery.

Filming on Series 16 is currently underway for transmission in early 2013.
