Brighton-based detective drama Grace is set to return for a sixth series

John Simm, who will reprise his role as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, is reunited with his co-stars Richie Campbell, who plays DI Glenn Branson, and Zoë Tapper who plays Cleo Morey. The show airs at 8 pm on Sunday March 29 on ITV.

Series 5 was one of ITV’s most popular dramas of 2025, whilst all five series have generated over 16 million streams on ITVX.

What do we know about the latest series of Grace

There’s an extensive media pack of interviews and notes, from which we learn there are four brand new standalone films based on the characters of the best-selling novels written by globally renowned author Peter James. They include the titles: Left You Dead, Capture You Dead, Dead Man’s Game, and One Of Us Is Dead.

Set to return are Laura Elphinstone who plays DS Bella Moy, Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl and Juliette Motamed as DC Vee Wilde. Guest stars will include Rishi Nair, Ali Khan, Sara Powell, Chizzy Akudolu, Dylan Corbett-Bader, Peter De Jersey and Amir Wilson.

If we move past the extensive interviews (certainly worth a read themselves) we get a reminder of the context of the show at the end of series five:

Tensions run high in East Sussex CID this series as, several months on from the arrest of ACC Cassian Pewe, Grace’s team is in the midst of an anti-corruption inquiry, while still reeling from the painful betrayal. As Grace wrestles with whether he can trust Cassian’s intel about Sandy’s murder and the threat to Bruno’s life, he decides to keep this all a secret from Cleo as they move towards planning their wedding and building a more stable foundation for Bruno at home.

Grace and his team are soon thrown into four challenging investigations: a missing persons case with a dark web of secrets at its core, a university campus plagued by a sinister stalker, a tragic death on a Brighton council estate, and a fatal car crash where all is not as it seems.

As the series progresses, Grace realises that for the sake of his family, he must pursue the truth about Sandy’s murder and unearth old wounds in order to see justice done, but this journey comes with truly devastating consequences for Roy.

Plenty to look forward to next Sunday.
