Granite Harbour gets a second series as it heads back to Aberdeen

Posted Filed under

Set in Aberdeen, BBC drama Granite Harbour will return for a second series on BBC Scotland, BBC One and BBC iPlayer

Centring on the story of RMP Sergeant Davis Lindo (Romario Simpson) who arrived in Aberdeen as a new recruit to Police Scotland working alongside DS Lara ‘Bart’ Bartlett (Hannah Donaldson), the first series of Granite Harbour was a BBC iPlayer favourite in 2022 with 7.6million streams. The second series will see Lindo and Bart called to the harbour to investigate the origins of a new crime wave sweeping the city, and will be written by Rob Fraser (River City, Tin Star), Ciara Conway (River City, Holby City) and Jillian Mannion (River City, Death in Paradise).

Filming on the three-part series will begin in late 2023 in locations throughout Aberdeenshire and Glasgow, with Granite Harbour premiering on the BBC Scotland channel, followed by BBC One and iPlayer in 2024. The BBC’s press release has some comments from the returning cast. No details yet on who else will be appearing — we expect news nearer the end of the year. Gavin Smith, Executive Producer, BBC Scotland also talks about the focus on drama developed and set in Scotland with the show joining an impressive portfolio including Shetland, Vigil, Guilt and Nightsleeper.
