Netflix has announced Lupin part 4 has commenced filming in Paris
The timing may be curiously coincidental, or deliberate irony given the thefts from the Louvre this week, either way Netflix tells us Lupin part 4 is now filming in Paris. In fact production has been underway since May. Of course Omar Sy reprises his iconic role as Assane Diop, the gentleman thief who has captured the hearts of viewers in France, and around the world. There’s little detail on what’s to come.
How did Part 3 end?
Assane stole the Black Pearl, earned the support of the French public, faked his own death, and saved his estranged mother’s life. That’s all before realising the only way he can ensure a safe and quiet life for his wife, son, mother and best friend was to sacrifice himself, and turn himself into the police. Part 3 ended with Assane behind bars at last — we can only hope that imprisonment won’t last long. At least he has a full set of Arsène Lupin books to keep him company in his prison cell.
And yes, the show is inspired by the novels of Maurice Leblanc.
There’s little else revealed so far, we’ll watch out for casting news and expect the show in 2026. We’ll keep you posted.
