Part of a deal with Banajay Rights including other shows

What do we know about the new Maigret

We last had a version of the classic French detective some years ago with Rowan Atkinson. From the press release:

Based on Georges Simenon’s iconic detective and produced by Playground, the how reimagines Chief Inspector Jules Maigret for a contemporary audience. Starring Benjamin Wainwright as the Chief Inspector, Stefanie Martini as Madame Louise Maigret and Blake Harrison as Joseph Torrence, the adaptation presents its own vision one of the world’s most widely read crime series for UK viewers in this latest adaptation.

Series 1 of premieres on U and U&DRAMA in December and Series 2 will follow in 2027. In series 1, the Chief Inspector and his team of maverick but loyal detectives, Les Maigrets, solve a series of complex crimes in Paris. His unconventional methods and unique sense of justice put him at odds with his superiors and the judicial system he is supposed to represent. Maigret must outwit some of Paris’s most cunning and violent criminals, while dealing with his own troubled past.

What else is there to look forward to

The 12 x 45′ series is part of a larger 114-hour content deal including A Remarkable Place to Die Series 2 (set to TX in November) and Agatha & The Midnight Murders. We enjoyed series 1 of A Remarkable Place to Die, the New Zealand crime show, and this is good news for next month.
