Atsuko Okatsuka, Hiro Murai and Ramy Youssef, who are behind the marriage comedy

Marriage comedy in development at Amazon

Coming from contemporary comedy icons, there’s a brand new series underway over at Amazon. Here’s the latest we have on the marriage comedy project:

Already having very familiar names and faces attached to the upcoming series, there’s a few interesting tidbits about the production that’s currently in development. The latest release about the project gives a few more details about whats going on behind the scenes.

What’s the new marriage comedy about?

Without a title and without many plot details currently available to the public due to the series currently being in the very early stages of germination, there’s still some hints to go by for what we can expect to see. Given that comedy icon Atsuko Okatsuka is currently attached, it’s likely that they will offer insights from their marriage, intriguing stories of which have already been told on stage during their popular comedy specials. Okatsuka’s anecdotes include trying to add her husband to her health insurance after roughly seven years together, only to find no legal proof of their marriage and realising she had not done a single load of laundry over a seven-year span of living with her husband. It sounds like there will be absurdity afoot.

Who’s attached?

Joining Okatsuka are producer Josh Rabinowitz (Broad City) and executive producers Hiro Murai (Guava Island) and Ramy Youssef (Poor Things).
