Mouthwashing, which inspired a fan base to imagine their own expansions of the story, has had the film rights picked up by Sony:

Names are already being attached to the production after the acquisition has been announced. The newest release of information about the popular psychological thriller game reveals who will be putting it to screen.

What’s Mouthwashing about?

The plot of the source material follows a crew stranded on a freighter left floating in space. It doesn’t take long for supplies to begin dwindling and the time spent waiting begins to feel a lot more like time spent surviving. The isolation builds paranoia between the crew members, causing them to take another look at the people the embarked on the journey with. The game isn’t afraid to use bold visuals to explore themes of relationships, trust and the abuse of power.

Who’s behind it?

Karyn Kusama (Destroyer) is attached to direct the feature, with Matt Manfredi (The Invitation) and Phil Hay (Ride Along) tasked with adapting the story to script.
