It’s been revealed who’s reprising their roles and who’s joining the cast for Spaceballs 2, here’s what we know so far.
Amazon MGM has revealed the casting for the sequel to the 1987 sci-fi parody Spaceballs. Some expected and some unexpected faces will star in Spaceballs 2, the following is a breakdown of the current information about the project.
What’s it about?
The plot of Spaceballs 2 has been kept under very tight wraps. All that’s been made public is that it’s the sequel to Spaceballs, which parodied the plot of the original Star Wars series.
Who’s in it?
Rick Moranis (Ghostbusters), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Daphne Zuniga (One Tree Hill), George Wyner (Station 19) and Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles) will be making a return. Moranis’ return has raised a few eyebrows, as many fans of his filmography theorised he wouldn’t return to the screen. They’ll be joined by Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon), Keke Palmer (Nope), Lewis Pullman (Thunderbolts*) and Anthony Carrigan (Barry).
When’s it out?
No release date has been confirmed, but pre-production is underway. Amazon MGM has planned for the theatrical release to be in 2027.
